My Film Title - 'Equinox'

I have decided to call my folk horror film 'Equinox', partly because I think it is fitting for my genre as it references a ceremony or ritual, and it links directly to my storyline which involves a photographer breaking down in a remote rural area and meeting a women who is organising a ceremony to celebrate the end of winter and the beginning of spring - 'the coming of the thaw'.

The name connotes nature and a special astrological event when the day and night are of an equal length, something which happens twice a year, the spring and autumn equinox. These annual moments are celebrated with ritual, exactly the kind of ritual which could be made sinister and unnerving in a film from the folk horror genre.
